Generative AI & AI-Assisted Technologies Policy

This policy outlines the appropriate use of generative artificial intelligence (AI) and AI-assisted technologies in preparing manuscripts submitted to the Journal of Economicate Studies (JoES).

Authors may use AI tools exclusively for improving language quality, grammar, readability, and clarity. However, AI must not be employed to undertake essential academic activities, including generating original analyses, developing financial or economic interpretations, reaching research conclusions, or proposing recommendations. All AI-assisted activities must be performed under appropriate human supervision, and authors retain full responsibility for the accuracy, originality, academic integrity, and overall content of their manuscripts.

Generative AI tools cannot be credited as authors or co-authors. Authorship entails accountability for the manuscript's content, approval of its final version, and responsibility for addressing any concerns or issues related to the published work. Since AI tools cannot assume these responsibilities, authorship must be limited to qualified human contributors.
