Plagiarism Policy

The Journal of Economicate Studies (JoES) is firmly committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity. To ensure originality and uphold ethical publishing practices, every submitted manuscript is subjected to plagiarism detection before entering the peer review process.

  1. Plagiarism Screening
1.1. All submitted manuscripts undergo plagiarism screening using trusted plagiarism detection software.
1.2. The editorial office conducts this check before assigning the paper to reviewers to ensure that only original works proceed in the review process.

  2. Acceptable Similarity Thresholds
2.1. Manuscripts with a similarity index exceeding 35% will be automatically rejected and returned to the authors for clarification or revision.
2.2. A similarity score between 20% and 35% will be further evaluated by the editorial team. The editors will determine whether the overlap involves properly cited materials, methodological descriptions, or potentially unethical duplication.
2.3. Manuscripts with a similarity rate above 50% are considered highly problematic and will generally be declined without review.

  3. Severe Plagiarism
3.1. Articles with 60% or more similarity are deemed as containing serious plagiarism and will be immediately rejected without further consideration.
3.2. The editorial board reserves the right to ban the authors from submitting to JoES in the future and to notify their affiliated institutions.

  4. Types of Plagiarism
JoES recognizes and addresses all forms of plagiarism, including:

    • Direct plagiarism: Copying text verbatim without proper citation.

    • Self-plagiarism: Republishing one’s own previous work without citation or acknowledgment.

    • Mosaic plagiarism: Borrowing phrases or ideas from multiple sources without attribution.

    • Source-based plagiarism: Misrepresenting or fabricating citations.

  5. Editorial and Reviewer Oversight
5.1. The editorial board, supported by reviewers, may conduct additional plagiarism verification at any stage of the editorial process.
5.2. If plagiarism is detected after publication, the article may be retracted, and an official notice will be issued in accordance with the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines.

  6. Author Responsibility
6.1. Authors are expected to ensure their manuscripts are entirely original and that any content drawn from other works is appropriately cited.
6.2. Authors must confirm that all co-authors have reviewed the manuscript and agreed to its originality before submission.

  7. Ethical Compliance Statement
By submitting to the Journal of Economicate Studies (JoES), authors acknowledge that their work will be screened for plagiarism and that any breach of publication ethics may lead to rejection, retraction, or blacklisting in accordance with the journal’s ethical policies.
