Author Guidelines

Journal of Managerial Education Studies (JoMes)

The Journal of Managerial Education Studies (JoMes) provides a platform for high-quality scholarly works that contribute to the advancement of managerial and business education. Authors are required to carefully follow these guidelines to ensure a smooth review and publication process.

1. Aims and Scope

JoMes publishes original research and scholarly works related to managerial education, including but not limited to pedagogy, curriculum development, leadership education, entrepreneurship, digital learning, ethics, sustainability, and innovation in management education. Submissions should demonstrate strong academic rigor and clear relevance to the field of managerial education.

2. Types of Manuscripts Accepted

JoMes accepts the following types of manuscripts:

  • Original Research Articles: Empirical studies using qualitative, quantitative, or mixed methods.

  • Conceptual or Theoretical Papers: Development or refinement of theories and frameworks related to managerial education.

  • Systematic Literature Reviews: Critical and comprehensive reviews of existing literature.

  • Case Studies: Practice-oriented or instructional case studies with clear pedagogical implications.

  • Short Communications (optional): Concise reports on emerging issues or innovative practices.

3. Language

Manuscripts must be written in clear and concise English (British or American English is acceptable, but consistency must be maintained throughout the manuscript). Authors whose first language is not English are encouraged to seek professional language editing prior to submission.

4. Manuscript Length

  • Research articles: 6,000–8,000 words (including references, tables, and figures)

  • Conceptual papers and reviews: 5,000–8,000 words

  • Case studies: 4,000–6,000 words

5. Manuscript Structure

Manuscripts should be prepared in the following order:

5.1 Title Page

  • Title of the manuscript (concise and informative)

  • Full names of all authors

  • Institutional affiliations

  • Corresponding author’s email address

  • ORCID ID (if available)

5.2 Abstract

  • Maximum 250 words

  • Clearly state the purpose, methodology, key findings, and implications

5.3 Keywords

  • Provide 3–5 keywords relevant to the manuscript

5.4 Main Text

For empirical research articles, the recommended structure is:

  1. Introduction

  2. Literature Review

  3. Research Methodology

  4. Results / Findings

  5. Discussion

  6. Conclusion and Implications

Conceptual or review papers may use alternative structures, provided the argument is logically presented.

5.5 Acknowledgements (Optional)

Include funding sources or acknowledgements, if applicable.

5.6 References

All references must follow the APA (7th Edition) citation style.

6. Formatting Guidelines

  • File format: Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx)

  • Page size: A4

  • Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt

  • Line spacing: 1.5

  • Margins: 2.5 cm on all sides

  • Page numbers: Bottom center

7. Tables and Figures

  • Tables and figures must be numbered consecutively and cited in the text

  • Provide clear titles and sources for all tables and figures

  • Figures should be high resolution (minimum 300 dpi)

  • Place tables and figures within the text close to their first citation

8. Citation and Referencing Style

JoMes follows the APA 7th Edition style.

In-text citation examples:

  • One author: (Smith, 2022)

  • Two authors: (Smith & Johnson, 2023)

  • Three or more authors: (Smith et al., 2024)

Reference list example:
Smith, J. A., & Johnson, R. B. (2023). Teaching innovation in management education. Journal of Business Education, 12(2), 45–60. https://doi.org/xxxxx

9. Ethical Standards and Publication Ethics

Authors must ensure that:

  • The manuscript is original and has not been published or submitted elsewhere

  • Proper acknowledgment of all sources is provided

  • Any potential conflicts of interest are disclosed

  • Research involving human subjects complies with ethical standards and approvals

JoMes applies plagiarism screening to all submissions. Manuscripts with a similarity index exceeding the journal’s threshold will be rejected.

10. Submission Process

Manuscripts must be submitted through the official JoMes online submission system. Authors should ensure that all required metadata (author details, abstract, and keywords) are correctly entered during submission.

11. Peer Review Process

JoMes uses a double-blind peer review process. All identifying information must be removed from the main manuscript file to ensure anonymity. Each submission is reviewed by at least two independent reviewers.

12. Revision and Acceptance

Authors receiving a revision decision must submit a revised manuscript along with a detailed response to reviewers’ comments within the specified timeframe.

13. Publication Fee

JoMes operates under an author-friendly publication policy. Information regarding article processing charges (if applicable) will be communicated transparently on the journal’s website.

14. Copyright and Open Access Policy

Upon acceptance, authors will be asked to sign a copyright agreement. JoMes supports open-access publishing to promote wider dissemination of knowledge.
