However, Muhammadiyah Metro University has specific policies in administering Al-Islam and Muhammadiyah Studies (AIK) lectures, one of Muhammadiyah Higher Education's characteristics, which is mandatory for all students, both Muslim and non-Muslim. The purpose of this study was to describe the perceptions of non-Muslim students towards al-Islam and Muhammadiyah lectures and to find out the perceptions of non-Muslim students towards Islamic teachings after attending the Al Islam and Muhammadiyah Studies (AIK) courses. The target output is scientific publications in ISSN scientific journals. After this research, the long-term target is to formulate AIK learning designs and methods that can attract Muslim students in general and non-Muslims in particular to increase learning motivation. This research is a qualitative research category with a descriptive research type. Qualitative research is a research procedure that produces descriptive data in the form of written or spoken words from people and observable behavior. In this study, researchers selected informants using a purposive sampling method. Purposive sampling is the selection of samples by aligning the objectives of the study and the samples taken. The samples are several non-Muslim students who have taken the Al Islam and Muhammadiyah Studies (AIK) 1 course. The results showed that most non-Muslim students' perception towards the AIK lecture program ala Mondok, most of them agreed. A small proportion disagreed, the perception of non-Muslim students towards Islamic teachings after implementing Al-Islam and Muhammadiyah Studies (AIK) <em>ala Mondok</em>. Their knowledge of Islam expanded and understood that everything in In Islam, there are guidance and lectures in AIK style is Muhammadiyah Metro University's uniqueness.</p> Muhammad Ihsan Dacholfany Iswati Renci Copyright (c) 2020 Journal of Al-Islam and Muhammadiyah Studies 2020-12-15 2020-12-15 1 2 56 68 10.32506/jaims.v1i2.629 Corruption According to Hamka in Tafsir Al-Azhar https://journal.islamicateinstitute.co.id/index.php/jaims/article/view/630 <p>This article aims to determine the interpretation of the verses relating to corruption in Hamka's interpretation of al-Azhar. This interpretation's choice was due to the great effort in his presentation to discuss the issue of corruption extensively and deeply. This is evidenced by Hamka giving the title "corruption" when interpreting the group of verses 161-164 of Ali Imran's letter. This research is library research with the primary data source is Hamka's al-Azhar commentary, while the secondary data is other literature that supports documentation techniques that have relevance to the discussion. The data management in this research is descriptive-analytic. Considering that this research is thematic interpretation research, the researcher uses research steps made by 'Abd al-Hayy al-Farmawi. The research results show that Hamka, in interpreting the verses on corruption, does not only combine the riwayah and dirayah but also includes the interpretations of other interpreters and includes the psychological or psychological side so that the reader can understand the real problem. Related to other themes in the meaning of corruption, there are several terms revealed by Hamka in the Ali Imran verse 161 that are familiar to readers' ears, namely; (1) cheating, (2) treason, (3) bribery, (4) gifts to officials, (5) commissions from partners received by people who have been paid from their assignment, (6) stealing, (7) corruption of the time.</p> Budi Jaya Putra Copyright (c) 2021 Journal of Al-Islam and Muhammadiyah Studies 2020-12-15 2020-12-15 1 2 69 87 10.32506/jaims.v1i2.630 The Social Role of Women in the View of 'Aisyiyah Muhammadiyah https://journal.islamicateinstitute.co.id/index.php/jaims/article/view/631 <p>The qur’an contains the laws, commandments and prohibitions of Allah, giving glad tidings and al-qur’an has explained the problems of human life from all fields, including all forms of women’s problems. It is based on Qur’an surah al-ahzab: 33. But the verse is less precise is used as an excuse to limit women’s gait in social activities outside the home. The article al-qur’an does not forbit women to work out of the house, even al-qur’an imposes responsibility on men and women to guide and improve society. This is expressed in the word of Allah surah at-tawba: 71. As al-Qur’an has explained how women play a social role, there is also one movement of women who also focus on women’s problems, namely ‘Aisyiyah. ‘Aisyiyah is one of the muslimah mevement under the leadership of of indonesia. Then the problem studied in this thesis is how social role the of women contained in al-qur’an and how also according to aisyiyah which is limited by discussing five surah in al-Qur’an that is surah al-Imran: 159, an-Nisa’: 124, an-Nahl: 97, ghafir: 40, at-taubah: 71.The type of research that the writer use is literature research with the title method (by collecting verses related to the social role of women) then peeled in deeply and thoroughly from various aspects related and analyzed with descriptive approach to explain the sosial role of women according to al-qur’an and according to aisyiyah. After being reviewed and studied, the author gets the answer that al-qur’an has explained that women can play an active role social life. Similarly aisyiyah also explained that women can still play an active role in social life as long as he does not forget his nature as a woman.
